This isn't a rant about any macronationalist in particular,as much as a critique many of all of them in the West, especially in the United States.
As many of you don't know, the Citizenry-Republic of Bitovia is an opponent of Communism (but let it be known that we wish no ill will on Lord Imperator and his country, or General Kervez and his country, as they're both pretty cool.
Why do so many marconationalists in the West say that communism has been defeated? I am aware of the fall of the Soviet Union, but there are several nations remaining today that have Communist doctrines, including:
The People's Republic of China
The Lao People Democratic Republic
The People's Democratic Republic of Korea
The Republic of Cuba
The Socialist Republic of Vietnam
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Considering that all of these states still consider Communism their political ideology, why is it stated that NATO defeated Communism? If anything, NATO defeated the Soviet Union, and even now it's largest post-Soviet State, the Russian Federation, is adopting questionable doctrines (such as Putin's crackdown on media freedom), and many of President Putin's critics are mysteriously disappearing on visits to Moscow. Can anyone shed some light on this topic? _________________ Regards,

Although they call themselves mixed economies, it seems purely to be in foreign affairs, so they benefit through trade policies. As far as treatment of their citizens, private enterprise, military, freedoms such as speech, they remain Leninist or Stalinist states. (Except for Venezuela and Russia, but they are on a steady road to authoritarianism.) _________________ Regards,

They have all returned to 'small scale free enterprise' - the Markets are Free even if the People are not. _________________ The most Honourable, the Marquess of Mobile, Bo Register

The markets [ directly and indirectly ] drive ALL nations;
which will identify themselfs as whatever it is that the
leaderships are attempting to promote, for their own People,
as well as the People of other lands / govts.
"Talk is Cheap"....and "Names are a Dime-a-Dozen"
[ to coin a few words ]
Govts will call themselfs, and associate themselfs, with
whatever and whoever will promote and protect their image.
A Communist one day......a Capitalist the Next.

I can agree with that, wholeheartedly. I also think word-play in itself has a major role to play in this game of deception. (i.e. People's Democratic Republic of Korea: Not Democratic or a Republic) _________________ Regards,

Erm, communism hasn't existed at all in a long time, by definition.
Communism was defined as a stateless, classless society. All of the forementioned states are states, and have class differences. Which means that none of them are classless. Way back when people lived in tiny communities and hunted for food, then yes, many of those tiny communities could be considered communist. However, nothing can really be considered as communist today. Socialist, maybe, but while nations still exist, not communist.
Course, this is just my opinion. _________________ Genius is drawing in perspective without ever being taught how.
